Peter Mthombeni is a South African ceramic artist
Peter Mthombeni was born 1962 in Benoni, he attended the Zenzeleni High School and later completed his national diplomas in graphics and ceramics at the University of Johannesburg (previously the Technikon Witwatersrand) and Higher National Diploma in ceramics. Peter was the first black man to register at the School of Art and Design in the 80’s before the Government of National Unity came into power in 1994. He faced many challenges, which he overcame with determination and integrity and is now an artist of renown.
